In this, our initial post, we should start where all of our childhoods begin. In a dark, muggy, hot room with the neighborhood's nosey neighbors gathered around the ol' birthing chair. No worries, the midwife is just...someone...and if things go sideways the local surgeon will be roused from...wherever he is. OH and he will dive in without washing his hands and maybe even without LOOKING yeah basically delivering you, the baby, with their eyes closed.
